Nottingham at MIPIM
Team Nottingham takes 'Best city in midlands' message to global investors 11 March 2010

In the current economic climate, competition for investment at the upcoming MIPIM property summit is sure to be as intense as it's ever been, but the team of individuals from the public and private sector organisations assembled to represent Nottingham at the show are confident they can make their city stand out head and shoulders above the rest.

'Team Nottingham' will look to position the City as the best in the Midlands to invest, by highlighting its historical importance, strategic importance to the region's commercial aspirations, excellent transport infrastructure and the regions branding assets.

Value from global icons like Robin Hood and Brian Clough, along with two of the worlds oldest football clubs and an international cricket test venue, will also help to give the county a complete solution feel.

Helen Andrews Team Nottingham member from branding agency RizkMcCay stated:

'The Team will have a lot of strings to its bow with a thriving economy that has seen great expansion over the last five years and grown to a substantial £12.1 billion. The business community in Nottingham, both in the private and public sector, are bound together by an infectious 'Can do, will do' attitude which is a great message for us to take to MIPIM this year.'

As well as a strong city brand, transport will also be a key selling point, as Matthew Tucker from Team Nottingham engineering infrastructure expert Morgan Tucker explained:

'Nottinghamshire is the prime location for our business, because of its accessibility and connectivity with cities and regions across the UK.

'We are located at the crossroads of two major highways including the A1, enabling us to be just 1.5hrs from London and within 1hr of Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Leicester and many other major towns and cities. Excellent rail links are available from most major cities, including a direct service to the new Eurostar terminal at London St Pancras. For visitors travelling by air, East Midlands Airport is just a short drive away'

The primary aim of Team Nottingham will be to promote the fantastic investment opportunities represented by the six soon to be vacated City Council buildings across the city, and property in and around Nottingham's exciting new business district, Southside.
